Order & Shipping Policies
Products will not be sent until we have authorization from your payment card issuer or PayPal. We will not be liable if there is a delay, and we will not accept your order if payment is not authorized.
After you have placed your order:
You will receive an email to acknowledge your order. It will confirm which products you have ordered, but does not constitute an acceptance of your order. A payment hold is placed using your payment method, but payment is not taken until we confirm your order. We will not accept your order if:
- Your payment is not authorized
- We do not have the product(s) in stock
- There is an error on our website regarding the price, PC categorization, or other details of the products
- You have combined coupons/discounts in a way that we had not intended
- You have canceled your order before payment has been accepted
We reserve the right to refuse any order. If we refuse an order your payment hold will be released.
Pricing and Payment
Prices throughout the website are quoted in U.S. dollars, and payment can only be accepted in U. S. Dollars. While we make every effort to ensure that the products shown on our website are currently available at the price shown, we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case. If products you have ordered are unavailable, you will be notified as soon as possible.
The price you pay is the price of the products shown at the time you place your order, even if the price of the product has since changed.
By submitting an online order you expressly agree not to request a ‘charge back’ of any fees or payments for said orders, and that no dispute with Basketballcardguy.com will be raised with or adjudicated by the credit card company. Rather, you agree to contact us directly to resolve the issue or obtain a refund.
Making Offers
At times certain items throughout the site are labelled "Personal Collection" while others may include a green "Make an Offer" button. These items may have the option for you to submit a price you are willing to pay. A member of our team will review your offer and get back to you if we are interested. You are not obligated to pay for the item until the price is mutually agreed upon, and an invoice has been sent to you. Items that are sold as a result of a best offer cannot be further discounted by using site discount codes.
Flash Sales
Certain individual items throughout the site will be placed on a limited-time sale from time to time. These sale prices are only available for the time shown in the countdown on the flash sale page. Once the countdown has expired the item will return to normal price and can no longer be purchased at the advertised discount.
If an item sells out or falls below a certain inventory level defined by BasketballCardGuy.com before the countdown has expired, it will also be unavailable for the promotional price. There are no rain-checks on flash sale items. All products are available on a first come, first served basis.
While we aim to have a system free of defect, it is possible that someone might purchase a flash sale item that is no longer in stock or available at the advertised flash sale price. If this occurs it will result in a cancellation of the order and a full refund to the cancelled order's customer's payment method.
Shipping/Delivery Information
We currently only ship to select addresses in the U.S. and a small number fo outside countries. You also have the option to have your products brought for you to one of our upcoming card shows to save on shipping. For products that require shipping, we will email you as soon as your order has been shipped, and will advise of the shipping method (if any) at that time.
Shipping Insurance: Lost, Damaged, Stolen Items
OLD POLICY: On purchases made before September 14, 2019:
BasketballcardGuy.com is responsible for getting your item shipped and will supply you with a tracking number for your shipment. Insurance can be purchased as an option at checkout. If you have not purchased insurance on your item you assume all risk of not receiving the item due to post office error.
CURRENT POLICY: On purchases made after September 14, 2019:
BasketballCardGuy.com will purchase shipping insurance on all orders at no additional charge. The insurance, provided by Route, covers all purchases made on BasketballCardGuy.com after September 14, 2019. If an item you purchase does not arrive, is damaged in transit, or is stolen off of your property after delivery but before you have had it in your possession, you can file a claim with Route to receive a full refund on the item.
The Insurance through Route is the only avenue you may take to receive a refund on purchases that have been lost, damaged or stolen.
BasketballCardGuy.com purchases the insurance for all of its customers' transactions. BCG has no financial obligation in refunding items that have been lost, damaged or stolen. This is why BCG has purchased the insurance for you. You may not file a claim with PayPal or your credit card company for lost, damaged or stolen items. Route pays claims very quickly and that is one of the reasons why they were chosen as the insurance provider.
Returns & Refunds
Some items are eligible for returns, and other are not. Please review the terms below to understand our policies on different types of items.
No two cards or collectibles are exactly alike. Therefore we ask that you please read product descriptions and look at product photographs before purchasing. We do our best by including high resolution photos and descriptions of the items so that you can have a realistic idea of what you can purchase.
You should not assume anything about the condition of the items other than what you see from the photos and what we have written in the description of the product. We are not professional graders and therefore do not represent any of our ungraded cards as being in any specific condition. Our customer service team is available to answer any questions and provide you with additional photos of each item you are interested in prior to purchase.
Stock Items
If you purchase a "stock item" (one that we have multiples of, and the individual one you receive is not the one specifically pictured on the site) and within 30 days of your receipt of it you find that it does not match the photo/description of the item online, you may request a refund. Your refund will come through the same payment method you used for original payment, for the full purchase price of the item upon our receiving it back from you. We do not refund shipping fees.
Exact Pictured Items
All other products that are photographed and listed on the site as single stock items (the exact items you will be receiving upon purchase) may not be returned. This is due to the fact that similar to the stock market, card popularity and values can change rapidly. It would be an unfair expectation to be able to return products after they are purchased when the value of them may have since diminished. You are able to see and are given the opportunity to ask questions and examine photos of the actual item you will receive prior to ordering.
Shipping
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. It was our responsibility to get the item to you, and it is your responsibility to get the returned item back to us.
Future Changes to Terms & Conditions
We reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions for buying products online from time to time. If this happens, we will notify you by posting the new Terms & Conditions for buying products online on the website. If you do not wish to be governed by the revised Terms & Conditions for buying products online, you must not place any orders.
These Terms & Conditions for buying products online are governed by the law of the United States and the State of Connecticut and you and we agree to use the Connecticut courts should any dispute arise.
If any part of these Terms & Conditions for buying products online is found to be invalid by law, the rest of them remain valid and enforceable.
